Some people have two misconceptions about custom design are that it is more costly and more time consuming than purchasing a factory made item of jewellery.

Many people who have experienced the process and enjoyed the results know this is not true. They focus on what it is they want and work with an expert to achieve their goal rather than wonder about trying to find the closest available option. They set a budget and work within that budget. They find that they get what they want for the amount they are happy to spend while participating in a very enjoyable process.

When working with you to create a piece of jewellery we will take all steps necessary to understand your needs and provide you with what you need to feel comfortable and make your decisions. This could include sketches, watercolour design drawings, computer composite images, scale wax models and a selection of appropriate gemstones from which to make you personal selection. Some of this collaboration works well via email however there is nothing like face-to-face discussion for good communication.

There is generally no charge in the early stages. Once we have arrived at the design and you have selected the materials and ordered the item we will request a deposit before beginning the work. At this stage most pieces are completed within three weeks.

The result, a piece of jewellery that is exactly what you wanted and that you can take pride in its creation. You have the design you wanted tailored to your taste and scale, using gems personally chosen by you all managed within the budget you allotted for the project.
