Our store, which opened in 1994, is situated in one of
Ottawa's most beautiful heritage limestone buildings. It is
located at 55 Murray Street in the heart of the exciting and
historic Byward Market.
The building originally the "Hotel
Martineau" was
built in 1872 and is the site of
Ottawa's oldest hotel. The central walkway was the original
entrance for the horse and carriage of hotel guests, hence
it's present name 'The Carriageway'.
Our studio displays a wonderful collection of Fine Jewellery
a large portion of which is designed and made in house offering
our customers selection and style not found elsewhere. A good
number of the pieces we manufacture are not for the showcases
but rather made specifically for a client.
Often this is a
reproduction of jewellery on display but modified to suit
a customer's particular request. Frequently it is a new design
developed through collaboration with the client to create a
unique piece or remodel an existing item just for them.
We also stock a selection of jewellery carefully chosen from
sources that specialize in quality non mass produced product,
jewellery with quality materials and considerable hands on
fabrication which compliments jewellery we manufacture
in house.
